Masala Dosa

Oooh!!. Everyone drools for Masala Dosa. This is an all time hit amongst children, adults and even the oldies. Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner...This is it!! A complete meal by itself. 
Masala for Dosa
You need
Dosa Batter
For Masala
Potatoes - 3 (boiled)
Onions - 1 big (finely chopped)
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Urad dal - 1 teaspoon
Channa dal - 1 teaspoon
Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Asafoetida - a pinch
Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Green chilly - 2 (slit)
Oil
Salt
Method
  • In a pan, add oil and splutter mustard seeds, add urad dal, channa dal, Asafoetida, green chilly, curry leaves, onions and sauté until onions turn translucent.
  • Now mash the potatoes with your hand and add them to the onions. A few pieces of potatoes here and there is fine.
  • Add turmeric and salt and mix well.
  • Allow to cook for about 3-5 minutes
  • Remove from heat and add coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Your masala is ready for the dosa.
  • Make the dosa, turn both sides.
  • Place a spoon of the masala on the white side of dosa and fold the dosa from both sides to make a pocket
  • Serve hot
