Grated carrot salad (காரட் கொச்மல்லி)

A healthy salad for the healthy soul. Nothing like eating raw grated fresh carrots, incensed with a few drops of lemon juice, herbs and spices. Power food I must say.


You need
Carrot - 2 (grated)
Green chilly - 2 (slit)
Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
Lemon juice - 1/2 lemon
Salt
For seasoning
Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
Urad dal - 1 teaspoon
Asafoetida - a pinch
Oil

Method


  • In a bowl add the carrots, green chilly, corainder leaves and salt.
  • Seasoning - In a pan add oil and splutter mustard seeds, add urad dal, a pinch of Asafoetida and pour over carrots.
  • Squeeze the juice of 1/2 a lemon, mix well.
  • Chill and serve
